Mr. Boren's Social Problems class will take first lunch today.

Tonight's softball game with West Central will be a varsity game only.

If you’re interested in being on yearbook staff, please pick up an application from Mrs. Belford today. Applications are due Thursday.

Math Team practices this week: Algebra I (Cherise) - Thursday at 7am

Junior girls interested in Girls State, remember your application is due to Mrs. Westbrook by next Friday, March 31st.

After Prom T-shirt forms are available in the main office. T-shirts are $10 and available in black or sky blue. This Friday is the last day to place your order!

Ms. Bowen's 3B English I will take first lunch on Wednesday.

The class of 2020 will meet during homeroom in the gym at 3:15 on Wednesday for our fundraising kick-off. Please do not dismiss until announced.

Thursday, March 30th will be an SIP Early dismissal day. Classes will dismiss at 1:55 at PHS.

Students: It is against school policy to put door stops in the doors to keep them open. This is happening in the morning in the annex. If you are doing this, please stop.

Students: We are aware that some of you have not purchased a parking tag this year. If you are driving to school and do not have a current 2016-17 parking tag, please stop by the office today to purchase your tag.

Guidance News:
Talent Search will be at PHS today and Friday in the small conference room. Passes are being sent to students that are involved.

Upward Bound will be at PHS on Wednesday during homeroom in the large guidance office for interested students. Upward Bound is a college-prep group that assists eligible students with college information, college visits, test prep, FAFSA prep, tutoring services, and they host summer activities. Students should come visit with Rob to find out what Upward Bound is all about.

Reminder, the following 2 scholarships are due into the guidance office today!
PHS Class of 1954 Scholarship: PHS seniors who intend to further their education are invited to apply for 2 scholarships renewable for up to 4 years ($5,000/year), representing a total value of $20,000 per awardee.
PHS Class of 1954 Vo-Tech Scholarship: Students who will pursue career training and/or certification at a vocational/technical school may apply for a one-time scholarship of up to $5,000 to be awarded over a period of up to 24 months.

Pikeland Staff Recognition Award: Nominations are due April 1, 2017. A $1,000 award will be given to a Pikeland staff member who has contributed to the betterment of the district and achievement of its students. Nominees must be currently employed by Pikeland Unit #10. Letters of nomination should include the staff member’s full name and building of employment. Nominations may be sent to: classof1954scholarship@gmail.com. or Class of 1954 Scholarship Fund, PO Box 479, Pittsfield, IL 62363.

Non-School Announcement: Non-school activities are neither sponsored nor endorsed by the Pikeland Board of Education, its employees, or its agents.

The Pike County Crazy Eight 5K Run/Walk will be held Saturday, April 29th at 9:30am, with registration and packet pick-up beginning at 8:30am. The Race begins at the QMG Pittsfield Clinic, 320 N. Madison St. Early registration by April 20th will guarantee shirt size. Forms are available in the main office. Run benefits QMG Healthcare Foundation which supports health and wellness initiatives in Pike County.
