As part of your spring cleaning it is important to check and ensure all smoke and carbon monoxide alarms are functioning properly and have fresh batteries. Installing a smoke alarm inside each bedroom, outside sleeping areas, and on every level of a home including a basement is recommended by the National Fire Protection Association.
Kindergarten Round Up. We enjoyed seeing our Kindergarten friends and parents for the past two days at Kindergarten Round Up. We look forward to seeing you again in a couple of weeks!
South School will host an outdoor Meet The Teacher Night on August 16th for 1st & 2nd grade. Kindergarten and preschool have their own unique back to school activities. We will gather on the black top on the east side of the school and we request that families with a last name that starts with the letters A-L come from 6:00-6:45 PM and families with a last name that starts with the letter M-Z come from 6:45-7:30 PM. Students & families can meet their teacher for the year, drop off school supplies, and get information on their grade level or the school. We are excited to see our incoming students!
We are sending a big thank you to the volunteers from First Christian Church for helping spruce up the school grounds at South tonight to get ready for the new year.
Educator Appreciation Week is next week! We appreciate our teachers and staff for the many hours of work to keep Pikeland students in school during this challenging year. Thank you for the amazing job you have done this year!

First Grade 100 day fun!
We had several senior citizens in Kindergarten today for the 100th day of school. Our kindergarten students celebrated with a variety of fun activities and games!
