**The Penny Wars Farewell Tour is happening next week!**
**Preschool screenings are happening soon.**
Judge Zack Boren and Mrs. Libby Boren are wonderful examples of community members investing their time and talents at South School.
Judge Boren recently visited Mrs. Renoud’s 1st grade class to read *Abraham Lincoln’s Hat*. During this visit, Judge Boren gave a copy of the book to each of the students as well as donating other books to Mrs. Renoud's classroom library. To top off the visit, each student had the opportunity to bang a real gavel!
Additionally, Mrs. Boren shared her dance expertise by helping Mrs. Marable’s P.E. classes explore both jazz and ballet as part of their dance unit.
Together, the Boren's have demonstrated how community partnerships can enhance learning and create meaningful opportunities for South School students.

Our day was filled with the first ever Valentine's Box parade, Singing Valentines, class parties, and admiring stylish Valentine hairdos and outfits.❤️💕❤️

This week Mrs. Frieden's Kindergarten class played a mystery letter sounds game! The students would draw an object from a mystery box and then they would say the sound and letter it began with. What a fun way to demonstrate understanding of letters and sounds!
*South School SIP Day Reminder**
South School students will be dismissed at 1:20 p.m. tomorrow (Thursday) for the February School Improvement Day. There will be no afternoon Preschool.
Please make sure that the school is notified of any schedule changes due to this early out.

South had a fun day on Friday! Our monthly dress up day was Sports Day and the donations collected will go to the Pike County Animal Shelter. To top off the day the staff was pampered with donuts and Grace & Grit compliments of the Little Braves Boosters.

South School yearbook sales are open!
The Pikeland School District will once again be offering preschool screenings in March. In order to be considered for enrollment in the Pikeland Preschool Program or PACT Head Start, a screening is required. Current students do not need a second screening.
Families are encouraged to schedule appointments soon as spots fill up quickly.
